Langsy and Van Kalsbeek Selected to Francis Award Watch List

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Small College Basketball released its first watch list for the 2025-26 Bevo Francis Award, with Northwestern men's basketball sophomores Jalen Langsy and Jesse Van Kalsbeek being named among 100 players across NCAA DII and DIII, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA men's basketball.

A First Team All-GPAC selection in his freshman season, Langsy has elevated his scoring average by nearly 10 points per game in his sophomore campaign. The Shakopee, Minnesota product is averaging 27.4 points per game, ranking second in the NAIA. Earlier this season, Langsy surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career, while also serving as a facilitator, averaging 4.2 assists per game. Langsy has scored efficiently, shooting 59.0% from the field and 49.0% from three-point range.

The 2024–25 GPAC Freshman of the Year, Van Kalsbeek is leading all divisions of college basketball in scoring at 28.5 points per game. He has totaled 1,219 career points in just 52 games and collected 533 rebounds in fewer than two full seasons. This year, Van Kalsbeek is averaging 5.1 assists per game, ranks second in the NAIA with 12.3 rebounds per contest, and is shooting 60.3 percent from the field.
Van Kalsbeek makes his second appearance on the Bevo Francis Award watch list after being named among the top 100 in 2025. Langsy earns his first career watch list selection.

The watch list will be reduced to 50 players on February 15 and to 25 players on March 15. Finalists will be announced on April 5, with the 2025 Bevo Francis Award presented on April 7.
