DeGroot Leads Raiders in Return to Cross Country Course

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northwestern College women's cross country team placed 15th at the Augustana Twilight on Friday, led by Emily DeGroot's 58th-place finish with a time of 18:59.29.

The Red Raiders finished 15th in the women's 5K, with a total time of 1:38:23.74 and an average of 19:40.75. Emily DeGroot led the team, securing 58th place with a finish time of 18:59.29, contributing 44 points to the team's total. Kayden Spencer, in her Red Raider debut, followed closely behind, clocking in at 19:30.14. Allie Hough rounded out the top three for the team, completing the race in 19:34.98.

Chloe Punt was among Northwestern's top five in her collegiate debut, contributing a time of 20:12.86. Kiera Rogers finished 137th with a time of 20:06.47.

South Dakota State won the event with an impressive 20 points, led by top finisher Ashtyn Hillyard.
