Story of Two Games for Raiders

Orange City, IA - Rounding out their series with Doane, Northwestern looked like two different teams as they drop game one 16-4 but win game two 7-3.

Game 1: NWC 4 - Doane 16

In the top of the first inning, the Tigers jumped ahead with a strong offensive display, scoring eight runs on five hits, including a three-RBI triple to lead 8-0. Doane continued their momentum in the second inning, adding two more runs with a two-run homer. The Raiders managed to break through in the third inning scoring on a sacrifice fly by Grant Guidry, bringing the score to 11-1. In the fifth inning, the Tigers extended their advantage with a homer and a run-scoring double, resulting in a 14-1 lead. The Raiders' offense remained quiet until the seventh inning when Bryce Click delivered a two-RBI single. However, the effort concluded with a final score of 16-4 in favor of Doane.

The Red Raiders and Doane began their matchup with each team scoring a run in the first inning. In the second inning, the Tigers took the lead with a homer to right field but Northwestern was unable to capitalize on Kevin Rubio's double, maintaining a 2-1 deficit heading into the third. Doane extended their lead in the third inning with another solo homer before Braydon Beelner's two-RBI double, followed by Silliman's two-run homer, propelled the Raiders to a 4-run fourth inning, shifting the lead to 5-3 in their favor. Northwestern extended their lead further in the fifth inning with Grant Guidry's two-run homer. The final innings remained scoreless for both teams, as the Raiders secured a 7-3 victory over Doane.
