How It Happened
Gwen Mikkelsen's fielder's choice to first brought in the game-winning run as Northwestern took down Dakota Wesleyan 5-4.

The Raiders opened the scoring in the first inning when Mikkelsen, after being hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a wild pitch and an error. Chloe Gallegos subsequently walked and stole second, allowing Mikkelsen to score unearned for a 1–0 lead.

In the second inning, Maddie Kvatek walked and advanced to third before scoring on Jori Hajek's fielder's choice bunt, pushing the lead to 2–0.

In the third inning, the Tigers managed to score their first run after a base hit reduced the Raiders' lead to 2–1. The Raiders responded with Mikkelsen scoring again, this time on a single by Gallegos to right field, extending a 3–1 advantage.

The Tigers added another run in the fourth inning, but the Raiders' defense held firm in the fifth. In the sixth, Gallegos doubled and was pinch-run for by Berkley Johannsen, who later scored on Hajek's fielder's choice, increasing the Raiders' lead to 4–3 after the Tigers had scored in the fifth.

The final inning saw the Tigers' Bagley hit a solo home run to knot it up at 4-4 before the Raiders capitalized on a Tigers' error which allowed Charli Bomgaars to advance to third. Mikkelsen then drove a ground ball to first with Bomgaars running full speed ahead, sliding around the tag for the walk-off run.

How It Happened
The scoring started in the second inning, scoring first to make it 1-0. The Red Raiders took an early lead when Chloe Gallegos scored on a sacrifice fly by Cassidy Gors to strike first. The Tigers tied the score in the third inning with an RBI double, making it 1–1.

The fifth inning saw the Raiders regain the lead as Ravyn Krachey hit a solo home run, her first of the year. Gwen Mikkelsen followed with an RBI double, bringing Charli Bomgaars home and giving the Raiders a 3–1 advantage. DWU responded in the sixth with a two-run home run to tie the game at 3–3.

Extras were needed to decide a winner, and in the tenth inning, the Tigers scored three runs, capitalizing on a sequence of errors and a sacrifice bunt to take a 6–3 lead. The Raiders managed to score once more when Mikkelsen doubled in Ashtyn Billings, but it was not enough to close the gap as DWU emerged victorious with a 6–4 win over the Red Raiders.
