Another GPAC Split for Northwestern

Mitchell, S.D. - The Raiders traveled across state lines to South Dakota to take on Dakota Wesleyan in a second GPAC double-header. It would be another split for Northwestern as the Tigers take game one 4-2, while the Raiders bounce back with a 10-3 victory.

Loss: Micah De Haan (4-3)

The Tigers gained an early advantage in the first inning, scoring three runs on four hits to take a 3-0 lead. In the top of the second, Northwestern responded when Grant Rychnovsky singled and eventually scored on a double play. However, the Tigers extended their lead in the bottom half with an RBI single, making it 4-1. The sixth inning saw the Raiders narrow the gap again. Brody Ayers doubled and was driven in by Grant Guidry's single to left field. Despite this effort, the offense was unable to add more runs, closing the inning trailing 4-2. Both teams were held scoreless in the remaining innings, resulting in a 4-2 win for the Tigers.

Northwestern kicked off the scoring in the fourth inning with three runs. Jack Craig and Kevin Rubio would both hit RBI singles, giving the Red Raiders a 3–1 lead after the fourth. In the seventh inning, Luke Wroblewski delivered a pivotal hit for the Raiders with a grand slam, driving in four runs and extending the lead to 7–1. Northwestern added another run in the eighth inning when Grant Rychnovsky scored on a sacrifice fly, making it 8–3. The ninth inning saw them increase their lead further with a two-RBI double by Grant Guidry, concluding Northwestern's scoring at 10–3.

Game Notes:
  • Luke Wroblewski had a dominate game with two hits, three runs, and a four-RBI grand slam in four at-bats
  • It was a one of a kind game for Jack Craig with one hit, one run, one RBI, and one walk
  • Grant Guidry had two hits including his two-RBI double
  • Devin Dirkx went the distance on the mound, allowing eight hits but only three runs with three strikeouts
