Vonk to Represent GPAC on NAIA SWLA Leadership Board

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern Senior Woman Leader (SWL) Dr. Erica Vonk has been elected to represent the GPAC on the NAIA SWL Association Leadership Board.

"I'm honored to represent the GPAC as our SWL representative on the NAIA Senior Woman Leader Association Leadership Board," Vonk commented. "Over the past year, our GPAC SWL group has met monthly to connect and share best practices. It's been a privilege to build relationships with other strong female leaders in athletics within our conference. I am committed to representing our region with integrity and excellence."

As part of her service on the SWLA Leadership Board, Vonk will be a liaison to the GPAC in ongoing initiatives across the NAIA.

"Erica's leadership and passion for the SWL position make her the perfect fit to represent us on the NAIA level," GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra said. "She is an advocate and forward-thinking leader, and her voice will be incredibly valuable on the national level."

Vonk has been active at the conference and national level since becoming Northwestern's SWL in 2023. Last year, she was one of three GPAC representatives at the NAIA Governance and Leadership Academy, in conjunction with the NAIA National Convention. In her role with Red Raider athletics, Vonk serves on the athletics leadership team, reviews the EADA report, and advocates for Northwestern's female student-athletes as a part of various meetings and groups.

The SWLA aims to promote the meaningful representation of women in the leadership and management of NAIA sports. They work to support the representation of women's interests, experiences, and perspectives on their campuses, within their conferences, and across the NAIA.
