Raiders Punch Ticket to Sweet 16

Huntington, IN. - Northwestern earns a big win in the second round of the NAIA tournament over Huntington University, 80-66, to earn a spot in the Sweet 16 in Kansas City.

In the first half, the Red Raiders took an early lead with Zach LaFave scoring a jumper to initiate their scoring. Conner Geddes hit an early 3-pointer, contributing to a dominant stretch where Northwestern pulled ahead 14-3. The Raiders extended their lead to 33-14 with a 3-pointer from Alex Van Kalsbeek. Despite Huntington's attempts to close the gap, the Red Raiders maintained their advantage, finishing the half with a 48-29 lead, thanks in part to Kaleb Booth's performance, including a 3-pointer and two free throws in the final minute. The Raiders opened the second half with a strong start, but despite a series of turnovers and fouls, Huntington managed to keep pace. Northwestern's Jesse Van Kalsbeek was pivotal in maintaining the lead, scoring consistently in the paint and beyond the arc throughout the second half. The Raiders lead proved too substantial for Huntington and Northwestern takes the win 80-66.
