Northwestern began the game with a solid defensive performance, but the offense stalled and the game remained scoreless at the end of the first inning. In the sixth inning, the Red Raiders managed to score off an RBI single from Drew Dykstra, narrowing the gap to 2-1. The seventh inning marked a turning point as Isaac Short hit a solo home run, tying the game, before Luke Wroblewski added another solo home run, pushing the Raiders ahead 3-2, a lead they would maintain for the rest of the contest.

In the second inning, the Red Raiders responded swiftly to an early three-run deficit with Ranier Castillo hitting a solo home run to put the team on the scoreboard. By the fifth inning, Judson led Northwestern 12-1. A Grant Rychnovsky's RBI double helped bring in a crucial run, and the inning concluded with the Raiders trailing 12-2. In a significant sixth inning, the Raiders' offense came alive as Braydon Beelner delivered a two-run home run. The offensive push continued in the seventh inning, highlighted by a strategic sequence that saw the Raiders score three runs. A wild pitch allowed a run to score, and a series of walks and disciplined batting added to the team's run tally, keeping the pressure on the Eagles. Northwestern scored another two runs in the eighth but the ninth inning was pivotal for the Raiders' comeback effort. Luke Wroblewski hit a crucial two RBI double, followed by a sacrifice fly from Devin Dirkx, which brought in two more runs. The team closed out the game defensively, maintaining their lead and completing a remarkable comeback to win 13-12.
