Men’s Basketball Jumps Back Into Top 15

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With one release remaining in the regular season, the Red Raider men's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 13 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.

Northwestern went 1-1 against two top-15 teams last week, picking up an 87-70 win over then-No. 13 Concordia at home. Jalen Langsy and Jesse Van Kalsbeek both scored 22 points, while Zach LaFave added 15 and was named the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week. Three games remain in the regular season, and the Raiders sit in a tie for second in the GPAC standings. Northwestern still remains one of the top offensive teams in the country, leading the NAIA in field goal percentage (55.8%) and three-point efficiency (42.8%) and sitting sixth in points per game (89.9).

A shakeup of the top five saw LSU Alexandria (La.) claim the No. 1 ranking. Georgetown (Ky.) followed in second, with College of Idaho, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), and Arizona Christian rounding out the first five spots.

Northwestern is one of four GPAC teams represented in the poll, joining Dordt, Concordia, and Morningside.
