LaFave Lands Defensive Player of the Week Award

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern men's basketball forward Zach LaFave has been selected as this week's GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

"Zach made his presence felt on both ends of the floor," head coach Kris Korver said. "He was really active defensively and on the glass. He did a lot of great things for us this week."

LaFave, a senior from Elkhorn, Nebraska, helped the Raiders to a top-15 win on Saturday, Northwestern took down No. 13 Concordia (Neb.) 87-70. In the win over the Bulldogs, he scored 15 points with two steals, two blocks, and three rebounds. It is the second time this season that LaFave has received Defensive Player of the Week honors, last receiving the honor on November 13.

He currently ranks fifth in the GPAC and first on the team in blocks per game (1.1).

The Raiders are back in action on Saturday, heading to Hastings for a 3:45 p.m. tip.
