Van Kalsbeek Earns Fourth GPAC Weekly Award of Season

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern forward Jesse Van Kalsbeek has been selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. It is the fourth time this season that Van Kalsbeek has received a weekly honor.

Van Kalsbeek nearly averaged a triple-double this week, posting 26.0 points, 10.5 assists, and 9.5 rebounds per game. In Wednesday's overtime effort, he recorded NWC's first triple-double since 1988, scoring 24 points with 12 boards and 10 assists. In Saturday's road win at Hastings, Van Kalsbeek followed it up with a 28-point, 11-assist, seven-rebound outing.

On the defensive end, he totaled 17 defensive rebounds, two steals, and three blocks.

Van Kalsbeek is first in the NAIA in points per game (30.0) and fourth in rebounds per game (12.3).

Northwestern is back at home on Wednesday night, hosting Waldorf at 7:45 p.m.
