Winterfeld Earns Third GPAC Honor in Four Weeks

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern outside hitter Stella Winterfeld has been selected as the GPAC Attacker of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. It is the fourth time this season and the third time in the last four weeks that she has earned a GPAC weekly honor.

"Stella is continuing to play at a really high level in both the back row and front row. She uses a variety of offensive shots to score those points," head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch said. "Our setters Liv Reitsma and Nyah Potthoff have been doing a really good job of putting all of our hitters in really good positions to score."

Winterfeld led the Raider offense in a pair of sweeps and helped Northwestern clinch the GPAC regular season title last week. She averaged 5.67 kills per set, putting up 18 and 16, respectively. In Saturday's win at Morningside, Winterfeld had 16 kills with eight digs and six blocks.

She currently leads the GPAC in kills per set (4.27).

Northwestern will host Waldorf in the regular season finale tonight at 7:30 p.m.
