NAIA Honors Van Kalsbeek with Weekly Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern forward Jesse Van Kalsbeek has been selected as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced this morning.

"Jesse has put in a lot of work to continue improving and growing his game," noted head coach Colton Kooima. "He has teammates around him who really trust and believe in him."

Van Kalsbeek averaged 31.0 points per game in three games last week, collecting a double-double in each game. In Saturday's win over Saint Francis, he put up a career-high 44 points to go with 14 boards, also dishing out four assists. Van Kalsbeek has two 40-point double-doubles so far in four total games.

He currently leads the GPAC and is third in the NAIA in points per game (33.3).

Van Kalsbeek's national honor is Northwestern's first national player of the week since Alex Van Kalsbeek on January 23, 2024.

Northwestern is back at home on Saturday, hosting Viterbo (Wis.) for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
