Sampson Named GPAC Attacker of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern middle hitter Maddy Sampson has been selected as the GPAC Attacker of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. It is the first time in her career that she has earned a GPAC weekly honor.

"What a weekend for Maddy at the net! She was attacking really high and with a lot of velocity on the ball in both matches," noted head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She has been having some great matches for us, so this a great honor for Maddy and our team."

Sampson had a career-high 13 kills in Northwestern's sweep of Doane on Saturday, hitting an impressive .600 in the match and blocking three attempts. On Friday, she posted eight kills and two blocks in a sweep of Hastings. On the week, Sampson hit .594 with 21 kills at 3.50 per set.

The Raiders are on the road for a pair of top-25 matchups this weekend, meeting No. 2 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 18 Midland.
