Darnold’s Offensive Run Leads to NAIA Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern forward Drew Darnold has been selected as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last week.

He is Northwestern's first NAIA Player of the Week selection since Ezekiel Foltz in 2021.

"Drew continues to score huge goals for us. He has developed a knack for being in the right place at the right time," noted head coach Dan Swier. "I also think Drew would agree that while this is an individual honor, he is the benefactor of a lot of hard work and selfless play by his teammates."

Darnold continued his offensive tear, scoring four goals and adding an assist in two wins last week. He netted his second hat trick in the last three games in Saturday's 3-0 win at Doane, while scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 win at Briar Cliff. Darnold has scored 11 goals in his last seven outings. He has been named the GPAC Offensive Player of the Week in each of the last three weeks.

The Raiders will play two at home this week, hosting Morningside on Wednesday and Hastings on Saturday.
