Two Day Tournament Trip for Wrestling

Marshall, MO - It was a trip down south to Missouri for Northwestern as they spent Friday and Saturday at the Missouri Valley Invite where the Raiders just miss out on a podium finish.

Noah Parmalee would have a strong tournament as he made it to day two after picking up three straight decision victories in a row, one of which came in sudden victory. Parmalee also started with a prelim match to make the bracket, giving him an extra match. He would be knocked into the consolation bracket with a 4-1 loss but bounced back quickly with two more decision wins including one over a GPAC opponent. However, Parmalee would fall just short of the podium after a loss in the consolations ending his tournament at 5-2.

Kaleb Grove would have a similar tournament, making his way to the third round before dropping a match by major decision. He'd advance by medical forfeit before winning by major decision 14-4. It would be another attempt at the podium come up short for the Raiders as Grove would lose by tech fall a match short of the a podium placement with a 4-2 record. "While they both fell short of the podium, [Parmalee and Grove] each turned in performances to help their national standing," commented head coach Rik Dahl.
