Men’s Basketball Picks Up Top-3 Spot in Today’s Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After carrying a 17-0 record through the midway point of the season, Northwestern has moved up to No. 3 in the NAIA Top 25. The Raiders received one first-place vote in the poll.

Northwestern holds the top offensive shooting average in the NAIA, making 56.5% of their shots and 42.9% of their three pointers. Their 92.0 points per game is fifth in the country. Individually, Alex Van Kalsbeek leads the GPAC at 22.7 points per game and is third in shooting percentage (66.2%). Jesse Van Kalsbeek is third in the league in rebounding (8.0) and Kaleb Booth is the top three-point shooter in the conference (62.3%).

The No. 3 ranking is Northwestern's first appearance in the top-five since November 28, 2017.

Unbeaten Georgetown (Ky.) remained in the top spot while defending national champion Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) moved up to No. 2. After Northwestern, LSU Alexandria and College of Idaho filled in the top five.

Northwestern is one of three GPAC teams represented in the poll, joining Dordt and Concordia.
