Pirates Sneak by Raiders in Non-Conference Tilt

PARKVILLE, Mo. – In the third meeting in program history between Northwestern and Park (Mo.), the Red Raiders dropped Saturday's road contest 2-1.

With possession alternating and plenty of shots being attempted in the opening 15 minutes, the Pirates were first to convert as Cecilie Pedersen scored at 19' to get on the board first.

Later, with a free kick opportunity halfway between the top of the box and the midfield line, Avril Baccam fired the ball into the back right corner for her second goal this season, tying the score at 1-1.

Park broke the tie seven minutes later, scoring what would be the game-winning goal from Lilli Porsch.

GAME NOTES
  • Avril Baccam scored her second goal as a Red Raider.
  • Baccam now has eight points this season (2 G, 4 AST).
  • Peyton Anderson played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting nine saves.
  • Northwestern attempted 16 shots with eight on goal.
Up Next: GPAC play begins on Wednesday, September 18 as the Raiders take on Concordia in Seward, Nebraska.
