Mitchell, S.D.– The Raiders won their second in a row after an end-to-end victory against Dakota Wesleyan.
Northwestern put immediate pressure on the net and found themselves with a penalty kick only 5 minutes into the match. Stand van den Beld buried the shot into the back of the net to put the Raiders ahead 1-0.
The early goal energized the team as the pressure remained strong with 7 shots and 2 on goal in the first half. Lars Ingram made his NWC debut and made two saves in his first collegiate half and the score remained 1-0 at the break.
The game stalled for most of the second half as both teams were strong defensively until the Raiders found an opportunity in the 69th minute where Pol Foix puts in his first collegiate goal off a Riley Aarbo assist.
Only one minute later, Stan van den Beld lobbed a free kick into the box, Drew Darnold takes a touch pass to Lars Geutjes who puts it in the net for his first career goal.
The remaining 20 minutes were a defensive stale mate as the Raiders come away with their second conference win of the season improving to 2-1-0.
