How It Happened
In its first of three matches on the weekend, the Red Raiders took down the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson in straight sets.

After giving up the first point in set one, Northwestern did not trail again in the set, moving ahead 1-0 with a 25-16 win. A 6-1 run bookended by kills for Maddy Sampson and Alysen Dexter moved the Raiders ahead 18-11, followed by another 4-1 rally to close the set.

Northwestern jumped ahead 10-4 in the second, but Lindsey Wilson cut into the deficit with a 3-0 run to make it 10-7. The Red Raiders then took six of the next seven points, forcing a Lindsey timeout. The Blue Raiders adjusted to gain a few points back, but Northwestern closed strong with a 7-0 run to finish the set, guided by the serving success of Sidney Oostra (3 aces).

In what was the most competitive set, Lindsey Wilson battled in the third frame, but Northwestern closed out a 25-21 win to secure the sweep. Despite trailing 13-12, the Red Raiders rattled off six of seven to take a 19-14 lead. Lindsey Wilson came as close as a point behind, but Northwestern closed with consecutive blocks from Zavyr Metzger to end it in three.
