Baseball Tripped Up in Brookings

BROOKINGS, S.D. – 19 Raiders saw the field as Northwestern dropped a tune-up game to South Dakota State on Tuesday.

How It Happened
The Raiders struck first as the top of the first inning saw Luke Wroblewski single in the leadoff spot before being brought around on an RBI groundout from Sam Stanford to give Northwestern a 1-0 lead.

It was a bullpen game for Northwestern, with plenty of arms getting experience against the Jackrabbits. After the Raiders took the early lead, South Dakota State drove ahead on a three-run home run in the third. From that point, the home squad led the entire way, adding on two more in the eighth to win 8-1.

Game Notes: Up Next: The Raiders will host a four-game series against Dordt on Friday and Saturday, beginning with Friday's doubleheader at 5:00 p.m.
