How It Happened

In the home half of the first, Devin Dirkx singled through the left side with two in scoring position, tying the game at 2-2.

Both teams traded punches, with Briar Cliff regaining the lead on an RBI double in the third, before Northwestern answered with a base hit from Mason Porepp, scoring the runner from third.

After a sacrifice fly from the Chargers in the fifth, Northwestern plated two in the bottom of the fifth to take its first lead of the contest.
