How It Happened
Northwestern avenged its loss from earlier in the week, using a late-inning comeback to defeat St. Francis (Ill.).

With both teams off the board until the sixth, it was a pitching battle in the rematch. The Saints broke into the run column first, scoring on a ground-rule double to take a 1-0 lead.

The Raiders responded in the bottom of the sixth, tying the game when Tatum Schmalbeck picked up an RBI single, bringing Jewel Bergstrom in from second. Later, with runners on second and third, Jori Hajek reached on a bunt single that let Alyssa Vortherms cross home plate to serve as the game-winning run.

Game Notes:
  • Kameryn Etherington was 2-for-2 at the plate and struck out four in the circle.
  • Jori Hajek went 1-for-3 with the game-winning bunt.
  • Tatum Shmalbeck recorded an RBI and a stolen base.
Up Next: Northwestern will close their time in Tucson on Monday, meeting William Penn (Iowa) and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.).
