Raiders Set for Round of 16 with Grace

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – Following an exciting weekend of basketball at the Bultman Center, the Red Raider men's basketball team is set to face top-seeded Grace (Ind.) in the Round of 16 at the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship, presented by Ballogy.

Live coverage will be available through the links at the top of the story. The NAIA will provide a livestream for $9.95/day or $34.95 for the entire tournament. Live stats are available through nwcraiders.com and Doug Broek will be on the call for KSOU 93.9 FM radio coverage.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Northwestern won a thrilling 72-71 Second Round matchup over (4) Oregon Tech.
  • Alex Van Kalsbeek led all scorers with 26 points.
  • Craig Sterk added 15 points, six boards, and the game-winning shot.
  • Kaleb Booth scored 10 and dished out six assists.
TOURNAMENT TIME!
  • The Raiders are no stranger to the NAIA tournament, making their 26th appearance.
  • Under head coach Kris Korver, Northwestern has made the tournament 18 times in 24 seasons, winning two national titles (2001, 2003).
  • Korver holds a 33-23 record in the national tournament.
 THE SERIES
  • It is the third meeting between the schools, with Grace leading 2-0.
  • The Lancers defeated the Raiders 90-72 on March 19 in the NCCAA National Championships.
  • The other meeting was in the 1992 NAIA Championship, as Grace won 85-79.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
  • The Lancers won the Crossroads regular season and tournament title with a 32-1 (17-1 Crossroads) record this season.
  • They advanced to the Final Site with wins over Washington Adventist and Union (Ky.).
  • Elijah Malone leads the way with 17.5 points per game and 8.2 rebounds.
