Women’s Basketball Drops Road Contest to Top-10 Foe

Duitscher reaches career-high with 13 points

SEWARD, Neb. – Akaysa Duitscher scored a career-high 13 points off the bench, but the Northwestern Red Raiders (13-9, 9-7 GPAC) were defeated by the No. 6-ranked Concordia (Neb.) Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

"We had some really good stretches, but at the end of the day we'll have to be tougher against strong opponents on the road," noted head coach Kristin Rotert. "Hopefully this is an opportunity for us to grow moving forward."

Northwestern kept it close and competitive through the first three quarters, only trailing by one after the opening frame and coming within single digits with 7:56 remaining in the third.

Trailing by 14 going into the fourth, Northwestern began the quarter on a 7-0 run, started by a three-point basket from Kaydin Davis, closing the run trailing by seven at 50-43 with 7:50 to play. The Bulldogs answered with a 12-0 run of their own, building up a 19-point lead with 5:06 to play on their way to a 75-55 win.

GAME NOTES
  • Molly Schany led the Raiders in scoring with 15 points, also grabbing eight rebounds.
  • Akaysa Duitscher scored a career-high 13 points.
  • Emily TerWee had nine rebounds, adding seven points.
  • The Raiders won the rebounding battle 42-35.
