Seasons End for Raider Wrestlers at NAIA Championships

Jenness picks up win in consolation round

PARK CITY, Kan. – The successful careers and seasons of Luke Jenness and Jake Francksen-Small came to a close on Thursday evening in the consolation bracket of the NAIA Wrestling Championships.

Coming in as the No. 9 seed in the 184 bracket, Jenness dropped his first bout by major decision before earning a 15-3 major in the first consolation round over Ottawa's Jordan Lomeli. In his second consolation match, a top-10 matchup put Jenness against No. 10 Jameel Coles of Grand View, who defeated the Raider senior by major decision.

Francksen-Small battled in his two bouts but was eliminated in major decisions against No. 3 JD Perez of Ottawa (Kan.) and Rylie Burns of Montana State-Northern.

Jenness ends his career as Northwestern's first five-time national qualifier, while Francksen-Small rounds out his career with two NAIA Championships appearances.
