How It Happened

The Raiders did not waste any time getting the scoring started. In the top of the first, Kameryn Etherington laced a single down the right field line to plate Gwen Mikkelsen and give Northwestern a 1-0 lead. Then, two batters later, Randi Childress hit her first career home run to center field to make it 3-0.

The Raiders kept the scoring going in the second thanks to a two-run home run by Jori Hajek and a sacrifice fly from Chloe Gallegos. After two innings, the Raiders led 6-0.

In the third, Northwestern scratched one run across after Charli Bomgaars executed a safety squeeze to score Krachey from third to extend the Raider lead to 7-0.

Northwestern continued their offensive showcase in the fourth inning. With two outs and a runner on second, Tatum Schmalbeck lined a double to right center field to score Abby Plate. One batter later, Krachey singled, and pinch runner Annika Jahn came around to score to make it 9-0. Krachey eventually scored on an error, and Hajek crossed the plate on a fielder's choice for the Raiders' final runs of the game. The Raider pitching staff finished off Waldorf in the final two innings to end the game early, 11-0.

How It Happened
Tatum Schmalbeck tossed a no-hitter, and the Raider bats poured on nine runs to top the Dakota State (S.D.) Trojans in the afternoon matchup.
