Raiders Dominate Flames on the Road

Omaha, Nebraska - Molly Schany and Hali Anderson both record a double-double, and the Raiders score 28 points off the bench as they dominate the Flames on the road.

The Raiders jumped out early to a 10-2 lead thanks to a 9-0 scoring run highlighted by Schany and senior Maren Nerem. With four minutes remaining in the quarter, Allison Piercy knocked down a three-pointer to push the lead to nine, but the Flames answered with a quick 5-0 scoring run of their own. With under a minute left, Maddie Pottebaum turned defense into offense with a coast-to-coast layup to send the Raiders into the quarter break on top by four.

The second quarter opened with Lexie Van Kekerix and Molly Schany both converting shot attempts in the paint. Later in the quarter, Piercy made another shot from beyond the arc to push the lead to 14 and from there the Raiders never looked back.

Northwestern opened the third quarter on a 19-0 run, with the three-ball playing a major factor in the offensive explosion. An Anderson layup closed out the third period, with the Raiders finding themselves up 66-25 on the road.

The fourth saw Northwestern convert solid defense into offense as they coasted to an 83-39 victory in Omaha.
