Van Kalsbeek Voted as GPAC Offensive Player of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern men's basketball forward Alex Van Kalsbeek has been selected as this week's GPAC Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

"Alex played two terrific games at the NAIA Showcase in Kingsport. He made his presence felt in all aspects of the game," head coach Kris Korver stated. "Alex scored the ball, made his teammates better, defended, and rebounded. His leadership and play were phenomenal once again."

Van Kalsbeek, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, guided the Raiders to two wins at "The Show" in Tennessee this week. In a top-10 matchup against No. 9 Cumberlands (Ky.), he scored 26 points and added eight boards and four blocks. In Saturday's win over Bluefield (Va.), Van Kalsbeek recorded a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds.

The Raiders are back in action on Wednesday, meeting Waldorf on the road at 7:45 p.m.
