Raiders Held Winless by Ranked Tigers

Orange City, IA – It was rough sledding for the Raiders at the GPAC Duals in Nebraska as they fail to record a match win and fall 47-0 to #8 Doane.

While the scoreboard wasn't in their favor, the Raiders battled against some tough competition on the road. The Tigers would start strong with a fall and a tech fall to start the dual, but Northwestern battled in the next two matches falling by slim decisions including Devin Padilla coming up short 7-5 at 149 lbs. Doane continued to pick up bonus point wins through the rest of the dual including two more falls. Kaleb Grove wouldn't go quietly into the night at 197 lbs as he fought a close 4-1 decision match, unable to find the final takedown.

"I was proud of the way we fought, especially at the beginning of the matches," said head coach Rik Dahl. "[We] ran into a very talented Doane team...We have a lot of positives to work with and several more opportunities to get better."

Up Next: Northwestern heads to Crete, Nebraska for the Doane Open on December 7th. The tournament begins at 9:00 AM.
