Raiders Face Tough Competition in Tournament

Des Moines, IA – Another Saturday, another tournament for the Raider wrestlers as they traveled to the Grand View Open but were unable to make it atop the podium.

It was a rough day at the office for Northwestern facing multiple Division one programs including Iowa and Iowa State. Only three Raider wrestlers were able to string together multiple wins on Saturday. Kane Butrick would have a big day at 141lbs as he finished the day with a 4-2 record with two wins by tech fall. Timmy Hubers and Cole Rutter both picked up two wins, each wrestler with a win by fall.

"I was proud of how hard the guys wrestled," said head coach Rik Dahl. "But we need to improve in some key positions in a short time."
