Defensive Efforts Guide LaFave to Conference Honor

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern men's basketball forward Zach LaFave has been selected as this week's GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

LaFave, a senior from Elkhorn, Nebraska, was a factor on both ends of the court in the Raiders' 3-0 week. He anchored down the Raider defense, picking up 5.0 rebounds per game with 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest. In Tuesday's win at William Penn, LaFave blocked five shots, pulled down 10 rebounds, and collected two steals.

The Raiders open up GPAC play on Saturday, traveling to Mount Marty for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
