Orange City, IA - Briar Cliff wasted no time scoring the first goal on the Raiders and never let up as they defeat Northwestern 5-1.
Leitcia Heemann would start of the game with a goal after just 15 seconds of action to put the Chargers up early. Briar Cliff never wavered as Eyrun Vala Hardardottir would score in the third minute and Tia Lisy would knock in a goal a few seconds before the 20 minute mark.
Avril Baccam of the Raiders wasn't going to let her team go quietly as she lead the charge for Northwestern to score their lone goal in the 30th minute. However, the Chargers'Â Ellen Lofsjogard answered back with her own goal just four minutes later and take 4-1 lead into the second period.
The defenses would be the stars of the show in the second period as only one goal would be allowed. Unfortunately, it would be Briar Cliff who puts one into the net from Emily Moran 15 minutes into the second period to seal the game at 5-1 as the Chargers defeat Northwestern. The Raiders fall to 2-4 in the GPAC and 2-9-1 overall.
