Final Regular Season Rating Keeps Raiders at No. 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The undefeated Red Raider volleyball team was once again selected as the NAIA's top team in the fifth Top 25 rating of the season. Northwestern received all 20 first-place votes in the final edition before the postseason.

Northwestern enters the week as one of two unbeaten teams in the NAIA, joining No. 10 St. Thomas (Fla.). Last week, the Raiders picked up a pair of sweeps over Briar Cliff and Dakota Wesleyan. Alysen Dexter put up 23 kills, hitting a blistering .500 on the week. She was also solid defensively, collecting 13 digs and six blocks. Tonight, Northwestern has an opportunity to clinch at least a share of the GPAC regular season title.

There was a shakeup in the top five, as Concordia (Neb.) and Eastern Oregon both moved up a spot. Jamestown (N.D.) dropped to fourth after losing last weekend, and Indiana Wesleyan moved back into the top five.

Four GPAC teams were represented in the rating, with two teams (Northwestern and Concordia) placed in the top five.

Northwestern has been ranked in 58 consecutive polls, sitting second in the NAIA's active streaks. They have been ranked No. 1 in nine polls in program history, which is tied for ninth all time.

Northwestern will travel to Waldorf tonight before closing the regular season at home on Tuesday.
