Northwestern Dishes Out Their Own 4 for 4 at the Goal

Forest City, IA - It would be all Raiders in this GPAC competition as four different players were able to register a goal as Northwestern defeats Waldorf 4-0.

It would be an even game all around for Northwestern as they score two goals in the first half and two more in the second at almost identical times. Starting of the scoring was the team leader in goals, Avril Baccam, as she knocked one through in the 22nd minute for the 1-0 lead. The Raiders would never trail in the contest as Taylor Brennan would get her shot at the goal and connect with the back of the net for the 2-0 score with SIX seconds left to spare in the first half. Northwestern never let off the net registering six shots on goal and seven corner kicks compared to Waldorf's zero in each category.

Second half rolls around and just under twenty minutes into this half it would be Northwestern's Grace Timm who is able to score a goal to extend the Raider lead to three as the defense continued to lock down the Waldorf offense. It couldn't be called a four for four without the fourth goal and Kylie Baccam wasn't going to let her sister have all the fun as she sends one into the net in the 80th minute for the dagger to sit Northwestern comfortably in a 4-0 lead with ten minutes remaining in the match. The Raiders would lead every offensive stat in the match by a large margin but also picked up six fouls to Waldorf's three.

Game Notes
  • For the goal scorers, it would be Avril's 12th goal, Taylor's third goal, Grace's fourth goal, and Kylie's 7th
  • The Raiders registered 32 total shots, 16 of which were on goal
  • Four goals is the most in a match this season since September 18th's win at Concordia
  • Genesis Maldonado faced no troubles tonight as Waldorf registered no shots on goal and only two total shots
Up Next: The 4-12-1 Raiders host Dordt in Orange City for the season finale on Wednesday, October 30th starting at 5:00 PM.
