Second Half Burst Pushes Jamestown Past Northwestern

Orange City, IA - After a back and forth scoreless first half, Jamestown gained life to push past Northwestern in the second half with a 4-1 victory.

The first half would be full of great defense but plenty of opportunities for both teams to put points on the board. No one was able to convert any opportunities however with shots going wide and saves by the goalies. Northwestern put up eight shots in the first period compared to Jamestown's nine as the score remained tied at zero.

Under seven minutes into the start of the second half Jamestown would strike first with a goal from Alyssa Caton to open up the offensive scoring in the second half. Northwestern would be the ones to find the back of the net next, tying it up at one all with Madi Manary's first goal of the season. Unfortunately for the Raiders, it would be all Jamestown from then on out as they score three straight goals for the 4-1 victory.

Game Notes
  • Madi Manary would score the lone goal for the Raiders, her first of the year
  • Northwestern totaled just six shots on goals compared to Jamestown's 11
