Raiders Fall in Midweek Matchup

Sioux City, Iowa– It was Morningside from end to end in the midweek GPAC matchup between the Raiders and Mustangs. 

Morningside struck quickly by scoring 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the match. They also tacked on one more in the 27th minute. The Raiders struggled with zero shots in the first 45 minutes compared to Morningside's 10 shots. 

The offensive struggles continued in the second half for the Raiders as they were not able find the back of the net. However, the starting eleven for the Raiders played very limited minutes. 

Northwestern finished the match with four shots, two on goal, six corner kicks, and 14 shots faced. 

The loss moves the Raiders to a 4-2-1 record in the GPAC and a 5-4-4 record overall. 

GAME NOTES 

  • Jonas Tiensvold made his goalie debut for the Raiders in the second half 

  • Daniel Lindhal and Drew Darnold led the team in Shots on goal with one each 

Up Next: Northwestern will remain on the road Wednesday October 16th, facing Morningside in GPAC action at 8 PM.
