Northwestern Records Four Wins on Senior Night, Drops Dual to Jamestown

Padilla records first fall of season; Jenness with second tech fall

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – A late push from the upper weights put Northwestern (3-11, 0-5 GPAC) on the brink of a dual win, but (RV) Jamestown held off the Raiders for a 29-21 win.

Northwestern recorded its first individual win of the night at 165 pounds, as Devin Padilla beat the buzzer at the end of the first period, pinning his first opponent of the season and bringing energy into the Bultman Center.

After the Raiders received additional points at an open weight, Jake Francksen-Small maintained momentum with a 9-1 major decision, his 12th win of the season. Next, at 197, Luke Jenness wrestled up a weight class, impressing with a 19-4 technical fall in the third period to bring his team within five. It was the 15th win of the season for Jenness and his second technical fall.

Finally, at 285, Jamestown secured the win with a 7-2 decision, ending Northwestern's hopes for a senior night victory.

Up Next: Northwestern will be back in action tomorrow, facing Concordia (Neb.), Hastings, and Midland as part of the GPAC Duals in Sioux City.
