How it Happened
Aquinas tallied the first two runs of the contest with a run in the first and second innings, with an RBI walk and double in the final game down in Florida, a nine-inning affair. In the bottom half of the second, senior outfielder Noa Vogel (Castle Pines, Colo.) notched his first home run of the season to cut the lead in half.

Aquinas surrendered their slim lead in the fourth, allowing Mo Watson (Jr., Ankeny, Iowa) to score on a throwing error by the Aquinas pitcher and a failed pick off attempt.

Northwestern would take their first lead of the game in the fifth, plating two runs. It began with the Red Raiders loading the bases with a walk, hit-by-pitch, and single. Vogel would drive in the go-ahead run with himself getting plunked for an RBI hit-by-pitch. Watson would deliver the second run with a sacrifice fly to fight field, giving NWC the 4-2 lead.

The following inning, with the bases loaded again, Evan Olesen (Sr., Estherville, Iowa) came into score on a wild pitch. While Mason Porepp (Jr., Pleasant Hill, Iowa) drove in the final Raider run with a sacrifice fly of his own, making it 6-2 in the sixth.
