Northwestern Set to Host Jamestown Tuesday for Lone Game of the Week

Final regular season GPAC home clash with the Jimmies

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Heading into the holiday season, the (RV) Northwestern College women's basketball team (4-2, 1-1 GPAC) is set to host the University of Jamestown (3-2, 1-1 GPAC) for the final time in the regular season as Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) foes on Tuesday, the week of Thanksgiving inside the Bultman Center.

THE SHOOTAROUND
  • Northwestern welcomes Jamestown to the Bultman Center for the final time as GPAC members on Tuesday in the only game of the week for Thanksgiving break.
  • Head coach Kristin Rotert is three wins away from moving into fifth all-time in program history in career wins.
  • Maddie Jones had a game-high five assists against Concordia, moving into sole possession of seventh-place all-time in program history.
  • NWC has not lost this season when leading at the half (4-0) or when wearing their red uniforms (3-0).
  • Molly Schany sits second in both scoring (24.3ppg) and rebounding (9.0rpg).
  • Hali Anderson has been the biggest three-point threat for the Red Raiders this season at 37.5% (9-for-24).
  • Emily TerWee notched a career-high 15 points last time out against Concordia, while also tying her career-high with two blocks. She also had a team-high nine rebounds.
  • Rebounding has been a strong point: In the NAIA, sitting seventh in rebounding margin (16.6).
  • Twice this season the Red Raiders have notched 50+ rebounds in a game, doing so just three times in 30 games last season.
  • Under Rotert, Northwestern is 28-7 (.800) inside the Bultman Center.
  • The trio of Schany, Anderson, and Jones have scored 56% of the team's points this season; also marking the most minutes averaged on the team.
FOURTH QUARTER PRODUCTION
  • NWC has been dominant in the final 10 minutes of games this season, putting up a quarter-high 130 points.
  • Through six games, the 4Q has been the best shooting quarter for NWC with a .464 FG% (45-for-97).
  • The Raiders have also held opponents to just 93 points in the frame (+37 scoring margin).
ROTERT'S RAIDERS…
  • Are 27-4 when totaling fewer turnovers than the opponent (12-0 in 2021-22).
  • Are 26-11 when outrebounding the opponent.
  • Are 8-9 against teams ranked inside the NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll (at the time of the contest).
SERIES HISTORY – JAMESTOWN
  • Northwestern leads the all-time series 14-7 against the Jimmies.
  • The Red Raiders are 10-1 all-time against Jamestown in Orange City.
  • Jamestown won the last meeting in Jamestown, N.D., 70-67, on January 28, 2023.
  • Rotert holds a 2-2 record against UJ, winning both of her games in Orange City.  
SCOUTING THE JIMMIES
  • Jamestown enters the week with a 3-2 (1-1 GPAC) record after splitting their Friday-Saturday GPAC games.
  • Kate Cordes (So., G) has paced the Jimmie offense this season with her 15.4ppg, while Audrey Rodakowski (Sr., C) and Kate Busek (Jr., G) lead the team with their 3.8 and 3.2 assists per game averages.
  • Busek also leads the team with her 6.4 rebounds per contest.
  • As a team, Jamestown sits second in the GPAC from 3-point range (.383); led by Cordes (41.7%), Sarah Lenz (41.7%), and Busek (38.9%).
Up Next: Northwestern will have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving before returning to the court on Wednesday, October 29 when they battle No. 2-ranked Dordt in Sioux Center.
