Northwestern to Host Two GPAC Opponents This Week

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – (RV) Northwestern (16-6, 9-5 GPAC) has two Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) games on the schedule, hosting Dakota Wesleyan (11-11, 7-7 GPAC) and Doane (9-13, 6-8 GPAC) in the Bultman Center.

The Raiders are looking to extend their home winning streak of eight games and win their 10th conference game of the year.

LAST TIME OUT:
  • The Raiders dropped a 78-55 decision at No. 11 Jamestown.
  • Matt Onken (R-Jr., Marshall, Minn.) led the team in scoring with 14 points.
  • Turnovers were costly, as Northwestern lost the turnover battle 22-7.
NORTHWESTERN NOTES:
  • Craig Sterk (Jr., McBain, Mich.) is now 22nd all-time in career points, with 1,440, and is just 42 rebounds from joining the 700-rebound club.
  • With the GPAC tournament on the horizon, the Raiders currently sit in third in the GPAC, a close race that has them only one game behind first place.
  • Despite dropping a game at Jamestown on Saturday, Northwestern has won nine of their last eleven contests.
  • With a win tonight, the Raiders would reach 10 conference wins for the seventh consecutive season.

  • Northwestern leads the all-time series with Dakota Wesleyan 49-33.

SCOUTING THE DOANE TIGERS:
  • Entering the week, Doane has won just two of their last ten games.
  • The Tigers are coming off of a 70-69 win against Midland, where Alex Oberhauser scored 24 points.
  • Doane boasts a dynamic scoring duo in Brady Timm (20.3ppg) and Oberhauser (17.8ppg).
  • Head coach Ian McKeithen enters his seventh season at the helm.
