Turnovers Costly in Loss at No. 11 Jamestown

Matt Onken with 14 points to lead the Raiders

Box Score JAMESTOWN, N.D. – No. 11-ranked Jamestown (19-3, 11-3 GPAC) had four double-digit scorers, led by Will Cordes with 19, to defend their home court in Saturday's game against the (RV) Northwestern Red Raiders (16-6, 9-5 GPAC).

After Northwestern started with a 6-2 lead in the opening three minutes of play, Jamestown took their first lead at 13-11 with 14:57 to go in the first half and never looked back. The Jimmies went on an 18-4 run over the next eight minutes and continued to fire away from beyond the arc for the remainder of the half, pushing their lead to as many as 23 points.

Trailing 43-23 at halftime, the Raiders moved their deficit back below 20 points on a pair of free throws from Matt Onken (R-Jr., Marshall, Minn.). However, the Jimmies scored 13 of the next 18 points to go ahead by 26, their largest lead of the game on their way to a home victory.

"Jamestown played a great game today," said head coach Kris Korver. "They were motivated, shot it well, were aggressive, and they didn't take their foot off the gas. Our guys attempted to make a couple runs but they continued to shoot the ball well. We have to flush this and get ready for Monday. We'll watch some film, get ready for Monday night, and hopefully Raider nation will come out to watch us."

Northwestern and Jamestown have split the season series after the Raiders won at home on January 6.
