Red Raiders Set for Saturday Tussle Against Concordia

Kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Korver Field

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Nearly one calendar year since their last meeting, the No. 4-ranked Northwestern College football team (2-1, 2-1 GPAC) will hit the gridiron against the Bulldogs of Concordia University (Neb.) on Saturday at Korver Field at De Valois Stadium. The two teams meet for the 45th time, the second-most common opponent in NWC football history.

  • NWC remains at No. 4 for the second-straight week in the NAIA; bringing the streak up to 16 polls.
  • The Raiders are one of six NAIA teams to average north of 200 yards in both passing and rushing per game.

HOME SWEET HOME
  • The Raiders are 25-9 (.735) under McCarty on Korver Field at De Valois Stadium.
  • In the 2020 season, the Raiders were a perfect 6-0 at home.

GPAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
  • Blake Fryar brought home the first GPAC weekly honor of the season for the Red Raiders with his performance in the 48-3 win at Jamestown.
  • He threw for 213 yards with a 77 percent completion percentage (23-for-30) with a new career-high of five touchdown passes.
RECAPPING JAMESTOWN
  • The Red Raiders picked up 31 first downs and 541 total yards en route to the 48-3 win at Jamestown.
  • The defense forced three Jimmie turnovers and held them to 101 total yards of offense.
  • Tristan Mulder returned a pick for a touchdown and Logan Meyer picked up his second-career 100+-yard rushing performance (15 att., 131 yds.).
LAST MEETING VS. CONCORDIA
  • NWC won 31-7 in Seward a season ago behind 238 yards and two TDs from Fryar in the win.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Red Raiders and the Bulldogs will meet for the 45th time on Saturday.
