LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern won their last match with a 5-3 win over Stephens College (Mo.) on Saturday. Both Julie Dunlap (Sr., Des Moines, Iowa) and Johnson struck twice in the victory, as Abby Noonan (Jr., Carlisle, Iowa) picked up two assists and Madi Manary (So., Vancouver, Wash.) had one assist.

GPAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Northwestern started the season with a 2-0 mark for the first time since 2011. Alexa Johnson (Fr., Spencer, Iowa) was instrumental in that success, as she scored a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC)-high four goals in the two matches (as of Aug. 29). Her offensive eruption over the weekend landed her the opening week GPAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Carroll College Fighting Saints
The Saints, hailing out of the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) for their soccer programs, enter the weekend with a 2-0-1 record. Carroll was picked to finish eighth in the CCC preseason poll, the league office announced back in early August.

The last time on the pitch, the Fighting Saints picked up their second straight shutout win with a 5-0 win over Providence (Mont.). Leading goal scorer Blair Stapleton found the back of the net for the first two Carroll goals, one right before the half and one immediately out of the halftime break. Stapleton's team-high four goals landed her CCC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Ottawa University Braves
Out of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), the Ottawa Braves haven't taken the field since their 8-0 shutout loss against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) on Wednesday, August 24. Ottawa comes to Northwest Iowa looking for their first goal of the season and their first victory.
