Northwestern Finishes Fifth in GPAC All-Sports Trophy Standings

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) league office announced the final standings in the 2021-22 GPAC All-Sports Trophy standings today, May 13. Overall, Northwestern took a fifth-place finish.

The men checked in at No. 3 this academic year, behind Doane and Concordia. On the women's side, the Raiders checked in at No. 7. Overall, Concordia University (Neb.) claimed the overall title.
 
On the year, three men's teams made National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament appearances (basketball, football, soccer). Cross Country, Track & Field, and Wrestling all sent individual athletes to their respective NAIA Championships events.
 
For the women, two teams made appearances in the NAIA national tournament (basketball and volleyball). Cross Country and Track & Field also sent individual athletes to their respective NAIA Championships events.

Historically, the Raiders have claimed the overall title once back in the 2017-18 academic year. The average over the last three years is 3.7, the last five years remained at 3.4, and the last 10 years is 3.3. (Note: In the calculations the 2019-20 season was not included due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
