OMAHA, Neb. – The Northwestern College women's tennis team (5-12, 1-6 GPAC) wrapped up their 2021-22 season at College of Saint Mary (9-6, 3-3 GPAC) with a 0-7 loss.
The Flames swept the doubles matches and took the doubles point.
Julia Kutz (Fr., Sheridan, Wyo.) and
Julia Anderson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) lost a close matchup in the No. 1 spot, 5-7.
Jessica Wilson (Jr., Onalaska, Wis.) and
Grace Twelmeyer took four games in the No. 3 spot but fell just short, 4-6.
Kutz continued to battle in the No. 1 singles spot taking her opponent to three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 3-6. Anderson also dropped a very close matchup in the No. 2 spot. She took the first set to a tiebreaker, eventually falling 6-7 (5-7), 5-7.
Wynne Vandersall (So., Des Moines, Iowa) won a number of games in the third spot, losing 4-6, 3-6.
With the loss the women's tennis season will end with a 5-12 overall record.
