FREMONT, Neb. – The Northwestern College women's tennis team (4-7, 0-1 GPAC) dropped their opening Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) match to the Warriors of Midland University (13-3, 2-0 GPAC) 1-6.
The doubles point went the to the Warriors. Midland swept the doubles matches, only dropping two games to the Raiders.
Freshman
Julia Kutz (Sheridan, Wyo.) played a long, three set match in the No. 1 singles spot, picking up the Raiders point with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory.
Julia Anderson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) battled in the No. 2 spot. After dropping the first set 0-6 she fought back and forced Midland's Chloe Do Logo to have to win seven games in set two, falling 5-7.
Emma Montenegro (So., Paramount, Calif.) also battled in the No. 6 spot, winning seven games in her match.
