Women’s Tennis Finishes Non-Conference Schedule

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northwestern College women's tennis team (4-6) fell to the University of Sioux Falls (8-5), 1-6, in Sioux Falls, S.D. to wrap up the non-conference section of the schedule.

USF swept the doubles portion of the competition, taking the doubles point. Julia Kutz (Fr., Sheridan, Wyo.) and Julia Anderson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) were able to win two games, but fell 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. The other two doubles spots were swept 6-0 by the Cougars.

Anderson was able to come away with the Raiders' lone point with a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) victory in the No. 2 singles spot. Wynne Vandersall (Jr., Martelle, Iowa) was able to battle and take four games, eventually falling 6-2, 6-2. Ainslie Robinson (Fr., Luverne, Minn.) won three games, third most on the team for the day. She eventually fell 6-2, 6-1.

Up Next: The Raiders will begin the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) matchups when they travel to Fremont, Neb. on April 1 to take on Midland University at 4:00 p.m.
