Box Score Pella, Iowa – The Northwestern College women's tennis team (4-5, 0-0 GPAC) wrapped up their weekend of competition in Pella, Iowa dropping a close contest to Central College (11-9, 6-2 ARC) 3-6.
The doubles matches saw
Ainslie Robinson (Fr., Luverne, Minn.) and
Wynne Vandersall (Jr., Martelle, Iowa) take their #2 match by a narrow two games, 8-6.
Julia Kutz (Fr., Sheridan, Wyo.) and
Julia Anderson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) couldn't quite find their rhythm together as they lost their match 8-1 in the #1 spot.
Kutz and Anderson both responded to take their singles matches. Kutz lost her first set in a tiebreaker but recovered to win the second set 6-1. She finished off the win in the final set, 10-6. Anderson took the #2 spot by winning the first and third sets, 6-1 and 10-8. Vandersall dropped her match in two sets, with the first going to a tiebreaker. Robinson had a very competitive match but eventually fell in the third set.
Up Next: The Raiders will travel to Sioux Falls to take on the University of Sioux Falls on March 25 with a start time of 6:30 p.m.
