Raiders and Knights meet in the Quarterfinals for the second-straight season

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The No. 3-ranked Northwestern College football team (10-1, 10-1 GPAC) are making their third-straight trip to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football Championship Series (FCS), set to host the No. 7-ranked Marian University (Ind.) Knights (9-1, 6-1 MSFA) for second-straight season in the NAIA Quarterfinals.

RAIDERS IN THE NAIA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (FCS)

LAST MEETING VS. MARIAN

  • Marian got on the board first with a 19-yard field goal, as the two teams would begin trading scores.
  • NWC took a 19-10 lead into the locker room, and their fourth quarter TD proved to be the game winning – and final -score of the day on a Logan Meyer 1-yard touchdown run to cap off a 7-play, 68-yard drive.
  • The day was summed up by Tyson Kooima (16-for-28, 227 yards, TD) and Cade Moser (9 rec., 164 yards, TD).
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Raiders and Knights have played just two times in series history, NWC evening the series last year in the NAIA Quarterfinals (1-1).
